About songsleep
songsleep.com is a meadow of calm, wordless sleep songs by Purrple Cat, and a player that counts them for you.
Purrple Cat
Purrple Cat is a lofi artist who started in December 2018 with Up All Night. Since then: 500+ songs, 500M+ streams and 425K followers. The music is mostly instrumental, slow and dreamy, and a whole record of it, Sleep Tight, was made for bedtime.
Why sheep?
Counting sheep is the oldest trick for falling asleep. Here the sheep are songs: each one jumps the fence when it starts and lies down when it ends. Pick how many and the player stops after the last one.

Questions
What are sleep songs?
Calm, instrumental songs to fall asleep to: slow, steady, with soft note attacks and no sudden jumps in volume. This site has 146 of them by Purrple Cat, measured and sorted so the calmest come last.
Why count songs instead of minutes?
Because it is what you actually hear. Pick 3, 5, 8 or 12 songs: each one jumps the fence as it starts, the last one fades out over its final 25 seconds, and then the music stops on its own. No alarm, no music playing all night.
How many songs should I pick?
Most people fall asleep within 10 to 30 minutes. Five songs is about 14 minutes, eight is about 23. If you are still awake when it stops, press play: the count starts again.
Do the songs have lyrics?
No. Every song on songsleep.com is instrumental. Words keep the brain listening, so the two Purrple Cat records with vocals are left out.
Is it free?
Yes. Every song plays in full, free, with no account and no ads, and every one can be downloaded as an MP3.
Can I use the music in my videos or livestreams?
Yes, on all social media platforms and in livestreams, with the credit “Music by Purrple Cat” and a link to purrplecat.com. It is licensed CC BY 4.0.
Can I upload it to Spotify or release a remix?
No. Neither the music nor remixes, samples or covers of it may be uploaded to music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, because that causes false Content ID claims.
